On a lovely Sunday evening last week our neighbor brought a screaming Addison home. I was told Addi was bounced off the trampoline and landed on her bottom. After an hour of her crying we knew something was definitely wrong with her arm. Luckily the InstaCare in Orem was still open so we didn't have to go to the E.R.. The doctor at the clinic was very nice and ordered several x-rays. After about ten minutes of waiting for the results, the doctor came into the room and explained that Addison had fractured her humerus by her growth plates and may need surgery that very night. This was turning into a very expensive evening. After talking with the doctor's at UVRMC it was decided that Addison would get a soft cast and a sling until we met with an orthopedic surgeon four days later. On Thursday (which was Shawn's 30th birthday) we met with the surgeon and received good news. Addison did not need pins put in her arm. She instead got a hot pink cast with glow in the dark stripes. Bet you didn't know they could do such fancy things with a cast. After the four weeks are up we will take her back for more x-rays and Addison may need another cast put back on. Until then she is enjoying all of the attention she is getting. Thank you to all of you who have called or stopped by to visit. I know it means a lot to her to know you care so much.

That is one fancy cast. They sure have come a long way.
Can't wait to see your war wound and your sweet cast that houses your little arm!
PS.. does it stink yet?
We are so sorry to hear of Addison's accident. "No more monkeys jumping on the bed . . . " ;-)
Glad it turned out OK. We hope to see the marvelous, hi-tech, racing stripped cast at Grandma's big b-day bash.
Love, Aunt Barb and Uncle Steve
I will never forgoet her in the tub and then watching her cast drain all the water out. Very amazing! I love her!
